Cleveland Browns wide receiver Antonio Callaway was pulled over last Sunday. He was cited for a suspended license and possession of marijuana. Dashcam footage also shows a gun and bullets found in his vehicle. Callaway did not inform his coach or anyone in the front office about the situation. It eventually came to light and Head Coach Hue Jackson was not too happy with his receiver. Callaway was not arrested, but Jackson wants to be informed of any situation of the sort when it comes to his players. Hue Jackson decided to play Callaway as much as possible in Thursdays preseason opener against the New York Giants. “Either you sit him or you make him play. I thought it was better to make him play.” There were times Callaway would jog towards the sidelines between plays, motioning his hand to get a sub in, Hue Jackson told him to stay out there and wouldn’t let him come off the field. Callaway did finish with a decent statline. 3 receptions for 87 yards, including a 54 yard touchdown throw by Baker Mayfield. Hopefully Callaway doesn’t get into any trouble in the future, and if he does, maybe he’s learned to notify his employer and head coach. The Browns next preseason game is this Friday at 7:30PM EST against the Buffalo Bills.
